Phenolic resin wheels are produced by compressing layers of cotton fabric impregnated with phenolic resin under high pressure and heat. The result is a lightweight but highly durable material with very high compressive strength, good load capacity and excellent resistance to wear.
Phenolic resin wheels feature low rolling resistance, good resistance to many chemicals, and are suitable for applications involving elevated temperatures.
However, they are not recommended for use on uneven floors or in applications with strong mechanical impact, as the material is rigid and less shock-absorbent compared to elastic compounds.
